The Wedding of Fernanda & Jack at Grand Sirenis
Fer and Jack began planning their wedding from Bangkok more than a year in advance. SInce they contacted us for the first time, Bere started looking for several venues to find the one they liked the most and that met the requirement of having a consecrated chapel in their facilities to avoid moving more than 1o0 guests who traveled all the way from Queretaro, Mexico City, Bangkok, London, Tokyo … After much searching, reviewing and quoting, they chose the beautiful private venue of Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya.
Fer told us that for that day she wanted a simple and boho look to be super comfortable that could allow her to enjoy the whole wedding and Vo Evolution Hair & Make up took care of beauty her as well as her mom, aunts and bridesmais.
The Getting Ready
The Catholic Ceremony
The ceremony started at 5:00 pm to take advantage of the day light and the lovely view that the Saint Martha Chapel has to offer, this is one of the few Chapels in Riviera Maya that has an ocean view.
This ceremony in addition to celebrating the union and love between Fer and Jack was very special to the family and friends of Jack because all the Catholic traditions were new to them and they did not know all the rites that are done during the sacrament of marriage; The Mass was held in Spanish so Fer and Jack decided to make small missals in Spanish – English so that no one would miss a moment of the celebration.
At the end of the mass, when the priest said the beautiful words “you can kiss the bride”, a mariachi band came in and played “El Son de la Negra”, giving everyone goosebumps!! and the husband and wife walked to the cocktail area escorted by the 5 mariachis.
For the reception on the beach, the set up and decoration was very natural: wooden tables in color chocolate and golden tiffany chairs. The centerpieces were runners of white flowers with greenery plus otive candles.
After the entrance of the couple to the reception and the main dances with the parents and sibilings, a delicious 4 course dinner was served by Icaza Creativos Catering and for the music … a traditional marimba!
The party was full of details for the guests such as a Mezcal Bar with jamaica water, grasshoppers and a delicious mezcal brought all the way from Oaxaca.
And for those who wanted a snack during the party or a sweet treat, we had a candy bar with peanuts, chips, “cocadas”, marzipan, “palanquetas”, chocolates, brownies, gummies , tamarind sticks and cup cakes.
For the wedding cake, Fer and Jack chose a “semi naked” option and the cake topper was a surprise gift from Fernanda’s brother: a little figure of them in caricature, amazing!
The guests and newlyweds partied until 4:00 am, everybody was dancing, drinking, and having fun!! This has undoubtedly been one of the most complex weddings we have planned and although there were super stressful moments before, during and after the event (like the mariachi band had to be on time to play at the end of the mass at an exact moment or that we finished and left the venue at 6:00 am, to mention a few …) So much time of planning allowed us to get to know Maria Fernanda and Jack and their fun families, so we got even more involved in the wedding, always looking for everything to be PERFECT and oh boy, it was !! The feeling of watching all the work of 18 months finally come alive is INDESCRIBABLE and all the comments of the couple and their guests were wonderful. We are very grateful to this beautiful couple for giving us the opportunity to be part of their love story and we greatly appreciate our team that without them, everything you saw would not have been possible !!!
