We are super excited to share with you the wedding of Pam & Jan-Kees!!
We planed this event for 6 months, Pam from Leeds in England, Jan-Kees from Amsterdam and us from Playa del Carmen and we never struggled with the time difference! They had a very clear vision of their big day: A very relaxed party where they could have a great time with their friends and family who they don’t see very ofter or had even years to not see. They looked for a private venue by the beach with the Caribbean feeling surrounded by coconuts and palm trees and we immediatly thought of Blue Venado and they loved it (!!) and we start planning everything from zero.
The color palette they chose was blush, dusty rose, gray and navy blue, we loooove it! It gave a touch of romanticism and elegance to the laid back celebration and we tried to incorporate in all the details, like Pam’s bouquet with tulips, roses and dusty miller with a navy ribbon.
Introducing Mr. & Mrsa. Rem Rodríguez!!!
Instead of a regular guest book, they chose a wish tree with a twist: they asked all of their guests to bring postcards of the places where they live and write good wishes as well as funny anecdotes they spent with the couple.
During cocktail hour Jan wanted to share some of the typical Dutch food and drinks with the rest of the guests from Mexico and England, so traditional “bitterballen” with mustard were served, also mini onions and pickles with Dutch cheese and to drink: heineken beer and Jenever (a Dutch gin).
The seat assignment were mini boxes with a sugar skull and a keychain of a clog typical of Mexico and Holland and the “table numbers”, were names of cities with pictures that Pam & Jan took in each place with a small anecdote of what they lived there. That was a super intimate and personal detail that we thought was lovely!
The tablescape was designed by Pam and Oh My Love Weddings, rectangular rustic wooden tables and chairs, crystal bottles with a mix of flowers in blush, soft pink and ivory with foliage, grey candles with gold taper candle holders, golden plates and navy blue napkins. The place cards were corks of wine from botlles that the couple drank themselves and with friends and family.
Thank you very much Pam & Jan! We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in this important day of your lives, we loved meeting you, planning every detail and being with you that day, you are an amazing couple that reflects a lot of love and chemistry, you can see from miles away the love that you have for each other and we wish that spark will last a lifetime.
